Today
Steve serves as Mayor of Diamond Bar, continuing his commitment to the city he has called home for more than four decades.
After building his life and raising his family in Diamond Bar, Steve felt it was important to become involved and help shape the future of the city. His decision to serve came from a belief that residents deserve a local government that listens to them, uses their resources responsibly, and keeps the community’s best interests at heart.
"It was important for me to give back to the community"
More than four decades after first calling Diamond Bar home, that commitment remains at the heart of Steve’s service.
For Steve, that sense of community is what makes Diamond Bar special. It is a place where families can put down roots, neighbors can know one another, and residents can enjoy a community that feels connected and welcoming.
Diamond Bar is a wonderful place to live, work, and play. After more than four decades here, Steve remains committed to preserving the qualities that make Diamond Bar feel like home while helping the city move forward.
“Diamond Bar used to feel like country living, and it still feels that way to me.”
Steve believes that government works best when it is closest to the people it serves. At the local level, residents have the opportunity to make their voices heard and participate directly in the decisions that shape their community. Steve believes city government has a responsibility to listen to residents, be accountable for how public resources are used, and make decisions with the community’s best interests in mind.
“Power should be close to the people.”
For Steve, that means being accessible, listening to residents, and remembering that local government exists to serve the people who call Diamond Bar home.
Steve’s service extends beyond City Hall. He represents Diamond Bar in regional organizations that help shape decisions affecting our community and the region.
