Steve and his family move to Diamond Bar, where he and his wife, Patricia, raise their three children and make the community their home.

Steve begins serving Diamond Bar, joining the Parks and Recreation Commission and becoming increasingly involved in the community he loves.

2005
Steve is first elected to the Diamond Bar City Council, beginning more than two decades of elected service to the community.

Steve serves as Mayor of Diamond Bar, continuing his commitment to the city he has called home for more than four decades.
For Steve, public service has always been about giving back to the community he loves.
After building his life and raising his family in Diamond Bar, Steve felt it was important to become involved and help shape the future of the city. His decision to serve came from a belief that residents deserve a local government that listens to them, uses their resources responsibly, and keeps the community’s best interests at heart.
More than four decades after first calling Diamond Bar home, that commitment remains at the heart of Steve’s service.
For Steve, that sense of community is what makes Diamond Bar special. It is a place where families can put down roots, neighbors can know one another, and residents can enjoy a community that feels connected and welcoming.
Diamond Bar is a wonderful place to live, work, and play. After more than four decades here, Steve remains committed to preserving the qualities that make Diamond Bar feel like home while helping the city move forward.

Steve believes that government works best when it is closest to the people it serves.
At the local level, residents have the opportunity to make their voices heard and participate directly in the decisions that shape their community. Steve believes city government has a responsibility to listen to residents, be accountable for how public resources are used, and make decisions with the community’s best interests in mind.
“Power should be close to the people.”
For Steve, that means being accessible, listening to residents, and remembering that local government exists to serve the people who call Diamond Bar home.
Steve’s service extends beyond City Hall. He represents Diamond Bar in several regional and statewide organizations, working with neighboring communities and public agencies on issues that impact Diamond Bar and the broader region.
His current regional roles include:
- California Joint Powers Insurance Authority (CJPIA)
- Foothill Transit
- Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG)
- Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts (LACSD)
